i see this being REALLY hard to balance. if you made it equal to meditate/pray, then it doesnt do enough to be worth using. youre better off temple sitting or potion chugging. if you make it too good, it marginalizes cleric/paladin/bard heals. plus, the cleric spell "regenerate" already does this, a...

i think we'd see more differentiation than youre expecting. im willing to bet most people would favor str/con on a lot of characters. i personally would favor dex/luck, regardless of character build. plus, stats themselves are getting a slight overall, so stats that are "desired" now, may take a bac...

i was with ya Famine, until you said Random. =p my personal hope is to get rid of all uses of "random" numbers. a static set of stats for all characters/races feels so much more balanced. and the X stats to allocate yourself makes it feel like YOUR character, as opposed to "oh, you play a human mage...

problem Zed... there are 878,169,600 different possible race/class combinations. do YOU wanna volunteer to write every single set stat combo for all those options? =p thats a virtually incomprehensible amount of characters, so stats set to race with points to self allocate is the MUCH more feasible ...

theres no downside to being transparent with max stats, especially for newbies. i couldnt tell you the max wisdom on like, 6 of the races, an' ive been playin' for almost 20 years. its also the difference of knowing the merits of a human ranger vs an elf ranger, a dwarf warrior vs a horc warrior, etc.

vamps do not need a buff in any way, shape, or form.
