The editor for world files is DeadEdit. This was originally written by Malice, with updates from Smith and I. It is a Win32 application using Microsoft Foundation Classes. It should work for Windows XP and more current.

The current version of the editor is available as an installer .msi from:

When you run the installer some (all?) versions of windows will complain about it being potentially unsafe. I don't have a code signing certificate (they cost real dollars), so I am unable to get around this. I also only have Windows 10 installs, so I can't tell you what you need to do to install it anyway in other versions of Windows. In Windows 10, click the "More info" link, and then the "Run anyway" button.

When I installed it, I had to go to properties of the installer, and check a box that said "unblock" because it said it was a file from another computer. Just a heads up for anyone who cannot get it to install due to SmartScreen.
