Attack Speed/Weapon Speed

This may be unreasonably difficult to achieve, however...

Each weapon (or aggressive spell/skills/song) has an attack speed (barehands too), probably measured in number of pulses.

Haste/+speed affect probably changes to reducing attack speed by either a percentage of weapon/attack speed.

Class skills to reduce weapon/attack speed, so that warrior remains best at hacking away, then other fightery classes, then roguey classes, then healery classes, then clothy classes.

Would require redesigning every weapon in game, which sounds like fun.

Sounds interesting. Also sounds like a whole lot of busy work once you lay the code, to examine and change all weapons.

What I'm interested in is how haste affects the mage/cleric classes. Surely, it should affect the non melee classes the same?

would have to figure out somethin' for Monk as well, since they dont technically "attack" and just purely use skills.

and wouldnt this unfairly effect melee classes over casters? or is that the point?

i.e. at the moment, warrior gets a 20% boost from haste, where ma/psi gets a 100% boost.

wouldnt this proposed change flip that, so that warrior would gain more from +% than lower att/rd classes?
